Our journey is one that is both humble and spectacular. Originally founded in 1962 by Matz Lischerong, a German Immigrant to the United States, as what was originally Primaknit Incorporated and Litex International. The companies were focused on Textiles; knitting and weaving manufacturing as well as the import and export of material and machinery to support knitting firms around the world. In 1977 Matz was named South Carolina’s Business Person of the Year, and went on to grow Primaknit at its height to employ over 300 workers in Spartanburg South Carolina, running 3 shifts a day 360 days a year.
Eventually NAFTA heavily disrupted the industry, and the company transitioned from textiles into Real Estate and other Businesses at the hands of Matz’s only son Nikolaus Lischerong, progressing into what is today Lischerong Enterprises. Nick as Principal of, manages a consortium of select investments and actively managed Enterprises, in his words “as the steward from what his father built until the day when his children Meyer and Matz are capable of taking over.
