Our Journey
Our journey is one that is both humble and spectacular. Originally founded in 1962 by Matz Lischerong, a German Immigrant to the United States, as what was originally Primaknit Incorporated and Litex International. The companies were focused on Textiles; knitting and weaving manufacturing as well as the import and export of material and machinery to support knitting firms around the world. In 1977 Matz was named South Carolina’s Business Person of the Year, and went on to grow Primaknit at its height to employ over 300 workers in Spartanburg South Carolina, running 3 shifts a day 360 days a year.
Nikolaus (“Nick”) Lischerong is the Principal of Lischerong Enterprises, where he oversees a diversified consortium of real estate developments, private equity investments, and operating businesses. Building on the entrepreneurial foundation established by his father, Nick has expanded the firm from its historic roots in textiles into a modern platform spanning healthcare real estate, manufacturing, construction, venture capital, and lifestyle ventures.
Raised in a family where business and stewardship were closely intertwined, Nick embraces his role as a next-generation leader. In his words, he serves “as the steward of what my father built until the day when my children are capable of taking over.” He continues to honor that tradition while aggressively positioning the enterprise for long-term growth and resilience.
Over his career, Nick has structured and led joint ventures across industries, scaled real estate platforms, and invested in early-stage companies with strong growth potential. His focus is on aligning with exceptional operators, creating enduring brands, and structuring deals that balance downside protection with transformational upside.
Beyond business, Nick is a devoted husband and father to Meyer and Matz and husband to McKinley. Family values, legacy, and integrity remain central to his leadership philosophy, shaping both his investment approach and the culture of the enterprises he manages. Nick also enjoys traveling with his family, spending time in nature, as well as following a rigorous athletic training and health protocol plan.
